Dr. Chelsea Smith is an education consultant with over 12 years of experience as a classroom teacher, assistant principal, and principal. All of Smith’s experience has been in schools designated as low-performing or highly impacted schools. In these settings, she gained substantial experience in school improvement, creating collaborative cultures, instructional coaching, building organizational excellence, and data disaggregation. Smith is passionate about schools becoming safe and conducive learning environments where all students can receive a quality education. In her current role with RTI, Smith provides support for district leaders, principals, teacher leaders, and school planning teams. Specific support includes building the capacity of schools to implement and sustain reform and innovation to ensure that all students graduate career and college ready. Her research interests include highly impacted schools, teacher preparation and development, instructional coaching, and school reform.
